Job Summary The Senior Director, Digital Communications will create and oversee a donor-centric digital strategy across the Trust that serves an expanding donor base, including national and international prospects. This role will work closely with the executive team to help build the donor pipeline, build participation in fundraising events, and deepen engagement and retention at all giving levels. They will bring extensive experience in marketing and branding to align all digital communications, including websites, social media, digital advertising, and mobile experiences. Leading a strong digital team, the Senior Director will keep the Trust at the forefront of digital communications among non-profits.
This Senior Director, Digital Communications will:
Serve as the digital communications expert for the Trust, and collaborate with the VP, Trust Communications to execute the strategic brand vision of the Trust.
Oversee all Trust websites and microsites, email campaigns, social media, mobile and other communications that support donor journeys.
Lead both in-house and agency teams to deliver engaging, interactive, seamless and distinctive digital experiences with messaging, content, ideas and donation opportunities to key target audiences.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across the Trust to deliver effective and innovative donor experiences that build the charity brand.
Identify best in class vendors, and manage relationships to ensure alignment with the mission and needs of the Trust.
Create digital communications strategies for all levels of giving.
Drive data-informed innovation; continually adapt and evolve content to target audiences with specific marketing.
Define, operationalize and lead the business processes of the team to include user experience journeys, research, testing and surveys.
To qualify, you must have:
BA/BS degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Web/Graphic Design or related field.
At least 10 years of digital marketing experience with a focus on audience experience and engagement with 5 years' experience building and coaching teams for high impact results.
Strong understanding of user-centered principles, process and experience using process framework and human-centered design techniques, including persona development and journey-mapping.
Ability to lead, coach, inspire and motivate a team of digital marketing professionals to create and deliver truly remarkable, influential and impactful work.
Effective collaboration with executive management and a variety of business partners.
Simultaneous management of multiple marketing communications projects.
Knowledge of current web practices including mobile, responsive web design, social, content marketing, automated audience journeys, and related technologies.
