We are seeking an Editorial & Creative Manager to support all aspects of Marketing & Communications to ensure that the Academy is positioned as a leader in private school education in the Atlanta market. If you have creative ideas about how to engage our audience, particularly in the digital landscape, we’d like to meet you! The Editorial & Creative Manager will report to the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications. Specific duties include:
Managing editor of Woodward magazine (printed twice a year), leading storyline development, writing and production management and collaborating with MARCOM, freelance designer and photographer, and other creative support as needed to determine editorial strategy and creative direction. Implement best practices in magazine design, content, and publication.
Provide concept, editorial and design direction, writing/editing, and production management for on-brand, on-time, on-budget execution of print collateral on behalf of all campus clients.
Write and curate weekly blog content for inbound marketing and weekly community e-newsletter creation.
Lead strategic planning and production of assets for editorial photography.
Collaborates with MARCOM team in exploring new and creative methods of telling the Woodward story in an authentic, compelling way across a range of media/platforms.
Create brand aligned content for editorial and advertorial requests and opportunities.
Manages Academy-wide stationery orders, requests, and fulfillment with print partner.
Provide editorial services for other school marketing materials, communications, and statements as needed.
An undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
Two years of relevant work experience (writing and editing and/or publications production preferred).
Outstanding written and verbal communications skills (familiarity with AP style preferred) and the ability to creatively and effectively share the #woodwardway story.
Highly organized and efficient with the ability to work independently or collaboratively. A high degree of initiative and self-motivation.
Must be flexible, adaptable, and able to multitask. Strong customer service mentality with a “can-do” attitude.
Technology Skills: intermediate to advanced knowledge working with the Google Suite, and familiarity with Content Management Systems and the full Adobe Creative Cloud preferred.
Perform all other duties as assigned by the Director of Strategic Marketing & Communications.
Understanding of the education industry.
Direct project management experience.
Experience working with freelance designers and third-party vendors such as printers and photographers.
The Editorial & Creative Manager is an exempt, salaried, 12-month position. The Marketing & Communications team works on site at the College Park Campus.
