The Chronicle is seeking a Senior Operations Specialist to play a key role on our Advertising Operations team, supporting our Corporate, Institutional, and Recruitment advertising revenue teams to ensure client success. In this role, you will manage the operational aspects of digital advertising products, including display banners, email blasts and newsletters, as well as job scraping and other digital recruitment advertising solutions. You will collaborate with product and technology teams, sales reps, and our advertising clients to develop and execute advertising solutions. You will report to the Director, Operations.
What you’ll do:
Launch digital advertising campaigns including display banners and newsletters to achieve successful results
Set up banners and drivers to support sponsor content programs
Assist in setup of eblast creatives to support targeted email campaigns
Work with clients or agencies to collect creative assets for digital campaigns, and work with the Senior Ad Ops Manager to flag and troubleshoot any issues that arise during testing and QA
Proactively monitor campaigns for delivery, KPIs, and performance benchmarks, and optimize as needed to ensure revenue fulfillment and to exceed clients’ expectations
Regularly generate 1st and 3rd party pacing and delivery reports for sales reps and clients
Respond to sales requests regarding inventory availability or ad hoc reports in a timely fashion
Work with the Director, Operations to continually improve the sales support process and ensure that best practices for ad ops, campaign management, and ad testing/QA are followed
Become subject matter expert for digital ad ops including ad products and specs, campaign pacing and delivery, and optimization tactics
Manage the onboarding and maintenance of unlimited job poster clients who use our automatic job scraping service via our vendor Propellum
Act as liaison between sales reps and Propellum to set up and QA new scrapes and make any requested changes to existing scrapes
Generate and distribute scraping report for sales team
Serve as primary point of contact with Propellum regarding scraping issues and alterations, and troubleshoot any scraping issues reported by sales reps or customers
Develop and maintain product support documentation for scraping and other Recruitment digital advertising products
Back up Recruitment Ad Ops lead on customer service issues and order management
Maintain extensive knowledge of digital ad servers and other ad deployment tools such as Google Ad Manager (GAM) and Iterable
Become well-versed in business systems including boostr (OMS/CRM), Netsuite (financial system/CRM/Case Management), Google Analytics, and Adobe Analytics
Help operationalize new ad products and capabilities
What you bring:
3-4 years of experience in ad operations, sales operations, or campaign management
Knowledge of Google Ad Manager or similar ad serving tool preferred
Experience working with business systems such as boostr, Netsuite, and Salesforce
Strong proficiency with digital products and services, including the ability to understand and explain how these products work from both a technical and business perspective
Highly organized with extreme attention to detail
Solid data and analytical skills with ability to derive actionable insights
Team player with demonstrated ability to execute across a cross-functional team and ability to work independently when needed
Superior client service and communication skills
Strong time management, project management, and multi-tasking skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, with
Proficiency using Microsoft Office products including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
