Future’s US Commercial team is seeking a Sales Development Manager to join a thriving team of sales-minded marketing professionals.
The Sales Development team serves as the primary contact for the Future sales teams, responsible for both the pre-sale ideation, packaging and collateral development of all custom campaigns, generating, analyzing, and communicating proposals (in Online Display Media and Creative Solution programs) to the sales organization for presentation to Advertising Agencies and/or clients. The team also supports the development of new revenue-generating advertising and experiential products by creating proactive sales packages, insights, media kits, and case studies. The Sales Dev team supports the sales process through deadline management and research from pitch stage to sold programs. Team Members will work closely with Sales and Marketing Departments and all media platforms for sales opportunities.
Job Summary & Purpose
This is a position within the Commercial team's Sales Dev division for an experienced Marketer. You will be responsible for supporting sales with a thorough understanding of Future’s key verticals, brands, and events. You will work closely with the Sales team to lead the division’s commercial success by balancing Revenue, Performance, and Brand Equity. You will oversee planning of media campaigns, assist in creative solutions programs for our clients, and support Sales to generate responses to client proposals.
You will be a dynamic, but thoughtful innovator who solves brand challenges through creative use of Future PLC’s advertising solutions. We are looking for someone capable of developing tailored custom advertising solutions for both agencies and brand-direct clients, as well as the individual creation of proactive sales collateral.
Collaboration is key in this role as you partner closely with various internal teams across the business to develop revenue-driving ideas, solutions and collateral in support of the sales team. Additionally, this role requires an insights driven approach and will collaborate with our Trade Marketing, Editorial, Planning, and Intelligence leadership to position our data and insights in an inspiring and powerful way.
Key role responsibilities
Prioritize work and manage deadlines
Develop integrated advertising packages (display media, creative solutions, email, experiential) from ideation to formal or informal response to proactive or reactive (RFP/RFI) needs
Partner internally with Sales to implement packaging and pricing strategy adhering to rate cards and guidelines
Work independently to review and create customized media plans and strategically utilize inventory to maximize revenue
Devise distribution and amplification strategies to achieve client KPIs at the lowest cost to Future
Thorough understanding of Future PLC’s portfolio of brands and verticals
Concept campaigns and translate them into cohesive sale-able RFP responses and campaigns. Programs must be unique responses to our client’s marketing challenges that can be produced on time and on a budget
Collaborate with the Sales, Editorial, Product, and Creative Solutions teams to identify, concept and create/package new custom programs and sales opportunities
Participate in sales and client brainstorms
Maintain weekly meetings with assigned sales partner (Account Director, VP and others) to go review open opportunities, and questions/updates about upcoming and current campaigns
Maintain and update an ongoing repository of sales collateral on our internal marketing systems
Build Future capabilities presentations, alongside Marketing leadership, that showcases the Future story, audience insights, and creative solutions
Partner closely with the Planning and Ad Ops teams to pull inventory and identify targeting opportunities
Essential skills and experience
Industry knowledge in order to easily identify standards & best practices with regards to Tech, Gaming, Music, Entertainment, and other verticals
Understanding of online-to-offline attribution modeling, and the holistic ability to tie digital spend to offline Client sales
Exposure to a variety of editorial teams, with a thorough understanding of what resonates with the audience and how they interact with advertiser content in this ecosystem
Knowledge of standard digital media products and IAB standards
Knowledge of what works well on the Web, both from a consumer and digital media industry point of view
Working knowledge of media agencies
Strong creative mind. Be able to think out of the box (and inside it too) when clients need it, with a knack for writing marketing copy
Detail-oriented, thrives while multitasking
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with an idea for design and a flair for unique storytelling
Good judgement and ability to work independently
Exceptional customer service skills with a strong sense of urgency
High degree of adaptability to changes in the nature of the industry

Ability to multitask as you work with multiple sales reps and campaigns
Exceptional organizational and time-management skills
Substantial digital marketing experience in a Sales Development/ Trade Marketing role for a B2C Publisher, media agency or brand
Basic MS Excel, MS Word, Powerpoint, Slides
Understanding and knowledge using CRM and/or booking systems (Salesforce, Netsuite or similar)
Experience working with multiple stakeholders informed and updated of campaign progress; able to articulate key milestones and dependencies
Demonstrable track record of creating complex programs, working with designers, programmers, ad operations, salespeople, and clients
