Cox Media Inc. is looking for a collaborative and well-organized individual to play a pivotal role in partnering with cross-functional teams to build and prepare innovative client solutions for moderate to high revenue clients. Reporting to the Digital Sales Manager, the Product Specialist coordinates and troubleshoots the acquisition and fulfillment of advertising orders for local accounts with moderate to high revenue potential. Working with local Sales and Sales Services team members, this position ensures digital orders are fulfilled and serviced properly. This role will work closely with local cross-functional teams on training and development to grow client adoption of new and existing products.
Internal clients are primarily the Sales team, but there is interaction with other departments as well. The role requires a fast pace of work, as well as responding to multiple demands and high pressure in order to deliver research results to accommodate others’ schedules and priorities. This is a budget-driven position that includes emphasis on achieving ambitious revenue goals. Use of personal or company car to travel occasionally to clients’ locations within the system is expected. Depending on the market, the incumbent may be required to travel 10-20% of the time. He/she maintains contact with external clients by phone and in person, may be called upon to participate in client presentations, and may occasionally participate in on- and off-site client activities which may occur outside regular business hours. The Product Specialist collaborates with and assigns work to others with no formal organizational authority.
Development of Client Solutions
Collaborate with Digital Sales Manager and assigned sales consultants to develop client solutions, determine client product mix, develop proposals and presentations, and complete production agreements.
Partner with Sales Services team members for order entry and revision instructions, fulfilling makegood requests, and managing client requests.
Responsible for solving internal and external customer problems, partnering with other internal departments and outside vendors as necessary.
Drive Business Growth
Strategize with Digital Sales Manager to increase revenue generation as it aligns with the client solution.
Monitor campaign reports to gauge the successful fulfillment and performance of client contracts. Initiate and take action as needed to engage sales and sales services in modifications, changes, and/or client notifications.
Drive Product Education and Adoption
Work closely with the Digital Team and Atlanta Product Team to learn and become the expert in new and existing products end to end.
Partner with Digital Sales Manager and Digital Marketing Strategist on training for initial launch and continued education to local Sales, Sales Services, Marketing and Production team members to ensure the local market is fully engaged with all products.
Facilitate Digital Activation and Campaign Management Activities
Facilitate campaign activation using the appropriate fulfillment processes and systems.
Responsible for campaign analysis and optimization throughout the entire campaign and supply end of month campaign results.
Work with internal partners to obtain information or to inform them about campaign changes/ optimization recommendations.
Work with Sales Services to ensure insertion orders are submitted to the appropriate vendors, entered into online system per instructions, approved and corrected if necessary.
Troubleshoot IOs submitted, offering expertise on creative, as needed.
5+ years of experience required in related field (e.g., Product, Sales; preferably in the digital advertising or media industry). 3+ years of experience required if candidate possesses a related advanced degree (MS/MBA or above).
1-year experience specific to digital advertising
Experience supporting the launch of new products.
Requires strong knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
Highly organized with attention to details.
Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects and priorities in a fast paced, rapidly changing environment.
BS/BA in related discipline strongly preferred (e.g., Marketing, Business, Advertising, etc.).
