The Division of Enrollment Management (EM) at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, (UT) invites applications and nominations for an Electronic Media Outreach Coordinator with EM Communications. We are looking for a passionate communicator with a love of marketing and storytelling. This position requires creativity, interpersonal communication, and collaboration among the team and across campus. You'll join the fun and creative working environment of the EM Communications Office. Be prepared for a fast-paced, everyday-is- different environment with opportunities to contribute new ideas about ways to communicate and impact prospective and current students.
As a member of the EM Communications team, this full-time, exempt position will be responsible for creating and maintaining content for EM's primary social media channels, webpages, and electronic media outreach. They will conduct social listening, and will inject content and thought leadership into targeted social channels and conversations. The coordinator will develop creative ways to tell stories that tap into current trends and give followers a reason to want to be part of the Volunteer family. Duties/Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain all EM division websites and social media accounts.
Create a strategic plan for digital advertising, websites, and social media accounts.
Lead marketing efforts, content planning, calendar development, tracking, and analysis of digital ads.
Develop strategies directly with vendors and advertising agencies for distribution and production of marketing materials.
Research and develop best practices and benchmarking goals for EM division.
Decide what existing editorial and marketing content should be shared on social media accounts.
Develop social-only content—either new or from existing materials—for sharing on social media (photo, animation, or video).
Ensure optimal use of social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Facebook Ad Manager, and Tweet Deck.
Edit and oversee light video editing and live streaming needs.
Develop, implement, and maintain processes, guidelines, and schedules to ensure content remains up-to-date and is continually refreshed.
Monitor, adjust, and report on content performance to keep internal leadership and stakeholders informed and to ensure continuous improvement.
Update and review content on editorial calendar for social media channels and webpages.
Envision, create, and implement digital initiatives and innovative content dissemination approaches that grow social audience and deepen audience engagement.
Continuously perform assessments and analysis of projects to determine if changes are needed to meet the desired outcome and timeline.
Provide leadership and consult admissions recruitment team on the development of their digital communications approaches.
Develop and oversee a student social media ambassador program.
Analyze web traffic metrics and suggest solutions to boost web presence.
Monitor SEO/SEM, Google Analytics metrics, and social media insights to inform future content strategies.
Cultivate relationships with campus communicators and other colleagues at the university for collaboration opportunities (Office of Communications and Marketing).
Lead the development and implementation of digital marketing strategy with media partners.
Monitor social accounts for opportunities to engage key audiences.
Monitor social media chatter for opportunities to provide thought leadership and guidance.
Ensure consistency and excellence in social content quality by documenting and enforcing best practices.
