Rutgers, the State University Of New Jersey, is seeking a Research Associate II for the department of Social & Behavioral Health Sciences at the School of Pubic Health. Under direction, the Research Associate II is responsible for the conduct of highly specialized and technical research in the area of tobacco. The Research Associate II assists in the management of tobacco research studies, including design, analysis, and reporting. The Position is 100% grant-funded and located in New Brunswick, NJ.
Performs various research activities related to tobacco print and digital advertising and promotions, direct to consumer and point of sale marketing and product packaging, including upkeep of a website displaying images and background information on these.
May conduct specialized research for a particular project independently or as assigned.
Participates in the development and selection of research methodology and instrumentation and coordination of qualitative and quantitative data collection, analysis, and interpretation to ensure conformance with the goals and objectives of the Center.
Develops and designs graphics that support the implementation and dissemination activities of the Center including the Trinkets and Trash website.
Under supervision, assists in the conducting of continuous tobacco product advertising and promotion data collection, management, analysis, and preparation of images and text for display, incorporation into a website, or research purposes.
Participates in the evaluation of the existing procedures, suggesting revision where necessary and proposing new procedures where required.
Trains and assists with oversight of student workers and others on various CTS projects including Trinkets & Trash.
Assists in the implementation of the programs and projects in special areas of interest to the Center.
Minimum Education and Experience:
PH.D. Degree or equivalent in a relevant science, or a Master's Degree in a relevant science plus three (3) years of related research experience (along with the Master's Degree).
Experience with qualitative research methods such as content analysis.
Experience with SAS and SPSS statistical software and Qualtrics or Survey Monkey software.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent writing and verbal communication skills.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
