Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Temporary Research Assistant for the Center for Tobacco studies at the School of Public Health. The Temporary Research Assistant will provide a range of research and programmatic activities in support of the Center for Tobacco Studies research priorities. This position is 100% grant-funded and located in New Brunswick, NJ.
Performs various research activities related to tobacco print and digital advertising and promotions, direct to consumer and point of sale marketing and product packaging. May conduct specialized research for a particular project independently or as assigned.
Provides support to faculty by assisting with the coordination and administration of research projects, and/or coordinating the planning, preparation, and control of communications, data, and research protocols.
Assists with administration of all Center initiatives, and/or special projects; this may include data entry, data collection and analysis, database management, and generation of documents, figures, tables, or spreadsheets.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Must possess excellent communication skills.
Must have the flexibility and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Must possess strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Experience with primary data collection preferred but not required.
Hours may vary but a minimum of 20 hours per week is preferred.
Experience with tobacco control and training in research methods strongly preferred but not required.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
PHYSICALDEMANDS: Standing, sitting, walking, talking or hearing. No special vision requirements. Must be able to lift or exert force up to 25 pounds.
