Responsible for the College's overall website, www.geneseee.edu, including but not limited to creating and updating content, monitoring usage, and integrating with various social media channels. Creates and manages a variety of interactive online content that enhances GCC's image; deepens the College's relationships with all constituencies; and strategically promotes GCC's programs and activities through multiple digital channels, landing pages, social media, and paid online advertising campaigns.
Strategically deliver time-sensitive digital content for the College's website(s) and landing pages, and ensure it is integrated with other communications channels including digital advertising, social media, blogs, and platforms such as E-newsletters, or E-mail.
Solicit, create, edit and/ or acquire necessary text, links, imagery, video, animation, audio and database information for effective content that is timely, accurate and adheres to the College's communication standards,
Assist with the introduction and management of a new content management system and new website design.
Help train and develop appropriate protocols related to new CMS and website design.
Following the College's graphic and branding standards, help develop webpage content types, forms and templates to ensure consistency across all pages.
Promote the website and other new media products to targeted constituencies.
Monitor and maintain GCC's presence and links on major social networks and establish new accounts as deemed strategically appropriate.
Moderate online forums, blogs and chats, and review external posts.
Maintain appropriate documentation of tri-monthly website and social media reports, as well as Google Analytics to document and report on website activity
Work closely with other College departments to create accurate, well-written and illustrated content in a timely fashion.
Maintain project log using MarCom's Work Zone project management software and Ellucian's Helpdesk ticketing system.
Remain current with new and emerging media technologies, trends and best practices.
Serve as a key member of numerous College committees such as the Digital Communications Group and its Social Media Governance subcommittee, and other committees or task forces as assigned.
Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Website Development and Computer Programming, Communications, Business, Marketing or related fields with coursework in information technology required.
With Bachelor's Degree, three or more years' experience developing and managing new online content for high traffic web sites and new media.
With Associate Degree, five years' experience developing and managing new online content for high traffic web sites and new media.
Special Skills or Requirements
Superior web development and digital design skills
Excellent writing, editing and communication abilities
Versed in digital marketing using SEO, analytics and online advertising
