The Staff Accountant position is responsible for managing the accounts payable process for the entire organization (Interactive Advertising Bureau). Responsibilities include processing invoices as well as employee expenses in line with company policies ensuring accuracy and the highest account standards. The role requires solid experience in accounting principles, accounts payables and employee expenses. Applicant must be extremely detail oriented, highly organized, have absolute discretion when dealing with confidential matters, the ability to follow instructions, and complete projects on time. This role works closely with the Director of Financial Operations in order to ensure proper allocation of expenses.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Implementing efficient and dynamic recording of invoices and invoice payments
Obtaining W9’s and new vendor set up forms for all vendors
Ensuring all invoices processed meet the criteria for the Contracts Controls Policy
Building strong working relationships with all vendors, actively follow up on outstanding payments due
Processing employee expenses including receipt review and coding
Analyzing expense data in QuickBooks to ensure proper allocation as it pertains to budget
Preparing and posting Accounts Payable accruals for month and year end
Booking balance transfer and payroll entries
Maintaining schedules for pre-paid, accrued expense, and payroll liabilities accounts
Ensuring accounting standards are upheld
Building consolidated company reports
Protecting the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
Performing ad hoc duties as assigned from time to time by the VP of Finance and/or Director of Financial Operations.
2+ years of experience in accounting principles, accounts payables and employee expenses
Data entry experience
Strong time management skills
High level of attention to detail and very organized
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Knowledge of Quickbooks
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Outlook
