The IAB Technology Laboratory (Tech Lab) is looking for a SeniorDirector of Product, UX and Measurement to manage the development of Industry technical standards and software to spur better consumer experience and measurement of digital advertising across multiple digital platforms and media. The person in this position will report to Head of Product, IAB Tech Lab. The individual will have technical depth in various fields, the ability to learn quickly from and educate a variety of audiences, and a passion for detail. The role leads development of operating guidelines and best practices for the creation, distribution, and optimization of digital advertising. Other responsibilities include:
Building tools and utilities to support adoption of technical standards.
Maintaining open source code repositories to support shared industry efforts.
Coordinate with other standards bodies like MRC, 4As, ANA, CBA for communication and adoption of industry standards.
Specific responsibilities include oversight of the evolution of important industry standards and initiatives, such as:
Open Measurement Working Group and SDK for viewability standards implementations.
Coordinate with MRC for development and maintenance of IAB/ MRC digital measurement guidelines and managing the MMTF (Modernizing Measurement Task Force).
LEAN program and coordination with CBA for industry adoption of better consumer experiences
Safe frames standard for secure cross domain ad execution.
IAB Ad Product Portfolio that includes ad formats specifications, ad functionality guidance including LEAN and dynamic content standards for real time programmatic.
Maintain github repositories of standards schema and code base.
The individual is expected to assume full ownership of the products and responsibilities, which include, but not limited to:
Leading technical working groups to create specifications and guidelines.
Working with other Product owners to resolve cross dependencies of specifications.
Working with Engineering to create core methods across specifications and tools.
Working with Marketing for distribution of new and enhanced products and specifications.
Socializing the foundational concepts of Ad Technology to both IAB Tech Lab staff and IAB Tech Lab members.
Evangelizing the standards.
Developing compliance services details for standards where necessary.
Experience, Requirements, and Qualifications:
10+ years of Product and/ or Program management experience in digital advertising industry or closely related environment;
In depth understanding of product management process;
Experience and knowledge of working with web technology; working with mobile platforms – iOS and Android is nice to have;
At least 5-7 years of experience communicating complex technology to company leadership and other audiences, which should include experience both in person and through the creation of documentation and delivering content over web conferences;
Experience with measurement of digital advertising or digital content and understanding of advertising performance measurement and metrics;
Experience or knowledge of patents, collaborative standards setting, and internet privacy and security are considered a plus; and
Project Management experience a plus.
