The primary responsibility for this position is prospecting and selling exhibit space to businesses within the foodservice industry for an annual show held in Milwaukee in March. Extensive database of qualified leads provided. Relationship based sales done by outbound telephone calls. Some face-to-face sales opportunities exist.
This position is primarily responsible for implementing strategies to attract new exhibitors, qualify and solicit prospective exhibitors and contribute to the team in helping to meet the show’s objectives by making it a success for its exhibitors.
In addition to selling new exhibit space, this position is also focused on helping to INCREASE NEW REVENUE for the Wisconsin Restaurant Association through WRA’s cross-selling program. The cross-selling program includes creating awareness and generating sales for the association’s quarterly print publication, show program, out-of-state supplier membership and digital advertising options. You are a part of the team that is responsible for meeting revenue budget goals.

Candidate must be self-motivated, goal driven, creative, disciplined, enthusiastic, and have a high level of initiative. They must be able to quickly generate new business opportunities, work in a time sensitive environment, and demonstrate the qualities to anticipate and adapt to the changing needs of customers and clients. They should be outgoing and friendly and exceptional at building rapport. Ideal candidates are self-motivated overachievers who enjoy using the telephone as their primary sales tool.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
High volume of outbound calls each week (50/day is ideal)
Implement strategies to attract new exhibitors and retain existing
Plan, prioritize and manage personal sales activities to meet short and long term goals
Update customer relationship management database
Provide input into sales and marketing program
Gain in depth knowledge of the foodservice industry and contribute to the discussion on current market conditions on how the Expo should evolve to meet the changing needs
Travel to other industry shows to prospect exhibitors

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING
Self-motivated, outgoing person who enjoys using the telephone as their primary sales tool
2-3 years sales experience
Professional manner; able to penetrate new accounts, determine decision makers, make effective presentations and close sales
Strong verbal & written communication skills
Ability to conduct self with honesty and integrity and in a spirit of teamwork and respect
Ability to think creatively on sales opportunities
