Stanford's Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) supports the nearly 900 student-athletes who compete on the 36 intercollegiate athletic teams sponsored by the university. The Stanford University Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation (DAPER) is currently accepting applications for the position of Business Strategy Analyst. This position reports to the Assistant Athletics Director, Business Strategy & Ticket Operations within the External Relations department of DAPER.
The Business Strategy department provides business insights using analytics and helps teams drive new initiatives and solutions forward. As a Business Strategy Analyst, you will define the strategies required to solve business problems, implement solutions and present findings. You will collaborate with stakeholders across a variety of Athletics business units, including Ticket Operations, Ticket Sales & Service, Marketing, Corporate Sponsorship, Development, Fan Experience, Digital & Video, Communications, Finance and Information Technology, to enhance the department's strategic and operational business capabilities in the following domains - revenue generation, technology strategy, data governance, reporting/visualization and analytics/insights.
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Own and manage the strategy and implementation of various initiatives that improve the department's strategic and operational business capabilities in the above mentioned domains
Partner with various departments across DAPER to define business problems and implement data-driven solutions to support marketing automation, in-game, digital advertising and digital communications efforts
Assist in the development of a data governance strategy for various department-wide data domains, including, but not limited to: tickets, development, sponsorship, marketing, digital and video
Manage the flow of information from ticketing to marketing automation, Salesforce CRM, data warehouse and visualization layer
Coordinate the development and execution of customer data hygiene and enhancement strategies
Design and implement reports and dashboards for ticket sales and operations, email and digital marketing, web properties and social media
Conduct ad hoc analysis and measurements to gauge the effectiveness of various initiatives
Ability to learn new systems and tools quickly
Strategic thinking that can drive multiple, concurrent projects to completion
Strong communication and presentation skills, comfortable engaging stakeholders at all levels of the athletics department
Proficiency with visualization and reporting software is preferred, but not required if candidate demonstrates ability to quickly learn and become proficient
Proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task
Passion for and strong desire to work in college athletics
BA/BS degree with quantitative or technical concentration
Experience analyzing large data sets, database query experience (e.g. SQL), statistical or quantitative modeling
Experience with data warehouses and data visualization tools
Experience working with engineering, sales or marketing teams in a related technical field
Knowledge of marketing campaigns, digital tracking tags and measurement tools
Experience using data and analytics to drive business outcomes
