Posting Summary: The McIntire School of Commerce seeks an Assistant Director, Web Development who is responsible for the oversight of the current commerce.virginia.edu site and the expected website over haul and re-launch of the site. This position is an integral part of the creative team and will help support our mission to elevate the digital reputation of the McIntire School, promote its brand, and develop creative content across owned and earned platforms. The incumbent works alongside marketers, writers, video producers, photographers and others, and is responsible for innovative and strategic use of Drupal to showcase rich media and creative content on the School's web presence. The incumbent partners with stakeholders throughout the school to identify goals, set measurable objectives and gather requirements and modifications for the existing web presence and future site. The Assistant Director also plays a role in leveraging the School's holistic digital footprint within the context of McIntire's overall marketing and communications positioning strategy including paid digital advertising, social media and email communications.

Required Minimum Level of Education: *Degree or Equivalent Experience Required
Required Specific Degree/Training: Bachelor's Degree
Required Minimum Level of Experience: Considerable - 4 to 7 years
Required Specific Experience: 5 years of website management including hands on development
2 years of managing a website built in Drupal including templating and custom modifications
Proven SEO experience and experience researching, setting up and optimizing Google Analytic dashboards and AdWords campaigns.
Preferred Specific Experience: Previous creative or digital agency experience
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to facilitate the entire web development process end-to-end, including design, development and deployment of visual enhancements, features and functionality.
Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills and the ability to be a collaborative team player and contribute creative ideas in a team setting.
Demonstrated project management skills, and the ability to oversee multiple, high-level projects simultaneously
Knowledge of brand stewardship in the context of both visual style guidelines and a content strategy
Strong understanding of UX/UI principles as well as responsive and adaptive design.
Knowledge of analyzing user experience and site performance data to inform content and design
Ability to produce wire-frames, and the ability to establish guiding website architecture/navigation, labels, and nomenclatures.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Working knowledge of email marketing platforms and HTML email design and best practices
Strong understanding of global perspectives and a willingness to learn new skills and adapt.
