The Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) seeks a talented Digital Communications Coordinator to support the School and the Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine with digital communications including website and web projects, social media, digital advertising, email marketing, and analytics. This position has a dual reporting role to the HSDM Communications Director and the HSDM Executive Director of the Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine.
The successful candidate will have technical expertise to monitor website performance, support web editors, providing training, troubleshooting, and assistance with updates as needed. This individual will also monitor and assess the website's Site Improve Reports, interpret Google analytics and use other measurement tools to increase traffic to the site and improve usability. The role will also support expanded digital marketing efforts including Facebook advertising and Google AdWords (SEO), and email marketing. In addition, the Coordinator will act as the communications liaison between the Executive Director of the Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine, and the Initiative board. The candidate will be able to effectively coordinate the development, design, approval, production, and distribution of digital marketing materials for HSDM initiatives and research projects while maintaining the Initiative website, advising on other research project websites, writing and editing engaging copy, selecting images and curating video content for the Initiative website as well as social media channels. We are looking for a person with previous experience to create web content and social media posts to sustain readers' curiosity and create interest around research and projects through the HSDM initiatives. The candidate would also be charged with developing a quarterly e-newsletter, creating content, growing the mailing lists, and measuring analytics. Finally the applicant will help plan and assess the impact of the School's digital media campaigns, and make recommendations to improve results by measuring web and social media traffic and monitoring search engine optimization.
This is a term position with funding through June 30, 2019 with possibility of extension.

2 + years of relevant experience required. Experience with web content management systems, social media management tools, and analytics tools required. Strong written communication skill a must.
College degree preferred. Position requires demonstrated knowledge of web technologies, experience maintaining web content management system along with working knowledge of social media channels, email marketing and other digital tools. Must be highly organized and detail oriented. Must be able to work independently and in collaboration with multiple internal stakeholders. Computer software & hardware knowledge and proficiency is ideal, including: web standards including accessibility and usability, content management systems (particularly OpenScholar or Drupal), social media tools such as Hootsuite, HTML email tools such as MailChimp, Adobe Acrobat, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and MS Office software.
