The Interactive Advertising Bureau (IAB) works to empower the media and marketing industries to thrive in the digital economy. With a mission of providing perspectives on the state of the mobile advertising ecosystem, the Industry Initiatives group serves as the go-to for all things mobile, helping to educate the advertising marketplace about the growth and value of mobile in reaching and engaging consumers.
As an intern with the IAB you will have exposure to some of the most important issues facing the industry today and the thought leadership initiatives designed to solve those issues. You will learn how our organization functions and how we manage large amounts of data that allows us to serve our members. Our intern program provides weekly learning sessions developed around key topics each department is working on and interns have the opportunity to participate in industry events hosted by IAB. We expect you to bring a fresh approach and have input on business objectives and strategies. Networking is a large part of what we do, so you will be given the opportunity to meet employees throughout the organization as well as interns from other programs to exchange ideas, learning experiences and the insight you have gained into the digital economy and how it functions.
The position begins June 11th and ends August 17th. Interns are expected to work approximately 40 hours a week and will be paid $13/hour.
Duties and Responsibilities (may include, but may not be limited to):
Update Industry Initiatives marketing materials (including member onboarding decks) to ensure member listing and logos, as well as key Industry Initiatives messaging is consistent and current.
Conduct online research on mobile advertising best practices, trends and challenges.
Work closely with Industry Initiatives team on key event-related tasks including meeting attendance and Eventbrite registration tracking and Salesforce management. This includes working with the Mobile Advertising, Local Advertising, Social Media/Native/Content, Game Advertising and B2B Committees.
Monitor social media handles of key members and work with their administrative teams to co-promote IAB events, materials and messaging.
Proofread copy for IAB’s various outbound communications and newsletters.
Manage marketing emails including scheduling, formatting and copy editing.
Keep the Publisher Content Studio list and Game Advertising examples document updated.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Strong content marketing, copy editing and social media skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
Outgoing, passionate individual with a desire to learn and an interest in digital mobile marketing and media a plus
Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment
Major in Marketing, Advertising or Communications preferred
