The IAB's Director, Video Center of Excellence identifies key challenges to and opportunities for growth facing interactive advertising in the areas of Digital Video and AdvancedTV. The Director will work with industry leaders to define obstacles and implement solutions in the form of industry guidelines, primers and best practices, research (in partnership with IAB research team), technical standards (in partnership with IAB Tech Lab) and thought leadership events and educational programs.
This person will oversee Video Center Committees and Working Groups made up of industry members to address key issues. The Director serves in a leadership and project-management capacity to help these groups achieve their goals. The Director supports the SVP and Deputy Director of the Video Center of Excellence and is a critical IAB team member, developing thought leadership and fostering growth of the digital advertising ecosystem. This person will work closely with team members from the Mobile and Data Centers of Excellence as well as the IAB Tech Lab. Â The role will be based in IAB's NYC office.
Project management of IAB's video-related committees, including setting agendas and running committee meetings, balancing diverse interests and views, developing and executing short-term and long-term project plans, keeping projects on track, and executing communications and adoption strategies
Write and develop market-making white papers, best practices, thought pieces on timely issues facing the industry and work with IAB Research and Learning & Development to inform their video-related product offerings
Conduct and host a robust schedule of committee and council meetings and town halls, as well as member and prospect meetings and communicate post meeting notes to ensure clear path for next steps
Writing and preparation of speaking notes / presentations, board meeting preparations, pre-read materials and follow-up reports
Professional Experience / Requirements
At least 7 years of industry experience in digital media research, product marketing, product management or management consulting, ideally in the Digital Video/Advanced TV industry. Business strategy or directly relevant operations experience is also welcome.
Excellent project management skills, ideally demonstrated in product definition/positioning/release, strategy development, or research.
Expert knowledge of the media and advertising industries, including their measurement and associated metrics, practices and processes
Expertise in specific technology platforms and digital media segments such as mobile, social, audio and digital-out-of-home a plus
Ability to deal with both the big picture and details while successfully multitasking
Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills
Demonstrated capacity to convene and manage large group meetings
