The IAB is seeking a Human Resources (HR) Intern to assist the Director of HR with various projects, including, but not limited to HR compliance, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, compensation, and employee training. In addition to gaining a better understanding of the role HR plays in a non-profit trade association, the HR Intern will have the opportunity to meet with employees throughout the organization as well as interns from other programs to exchange ideas, learning experiences and the insight you have gained into the digital economy and how it functions. The preferred candidate is highly self-motivated, collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, and a quick learner.
The HR Intern is a temporary position for around 10 weeks (~January-March 2018). IAB interns are paid an hourly rate of $13/hour. The ideal candidate will be available to work 40 hours per week, but qualified candidates who can only work part-time may be considered.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist with recruitment activities, such as managing the recruitment mailbox, coordinating interviews, applicant tracking, conducting reference checks and posting open roles;
Provide support in the planning and execution of HR/company initiatives, including employee training, performance management, summer Intern program, and diversity & inclusion;
Create new hire packets and assist with processing employee paperwork;
Maintain HR and employee files in compliance with company policy and State and Federal laws;
Create, review and/or update HR related documentation, as necessary;
Generate HR/employee reports as needed;
Recommend process improvements in the HR department; and
Assist with projects and other tasks as assigned.
Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Strong attention to detail
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal)
Interest and/or major in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field is preferred.
