The Assistant Director of Integrated Communications contributes to the development of strategic messaging; develops concepts, conducts research, and writes promotional and editorial content for the College website, the Saint Mary’s College periodical, Courier. A specific focus is placed on working collaboratively with faculty and other department personnel in developing strategies and content for Team Recruit, a College wide student recruitment effort. Additionally, this position contributes to the overall content development effort of the Marketing Communications department by writing copy for use across integrated communications channels, such as print and digital advertising, and a variety College publications; as well as contributing to the management of video production for use on College website. The Assistant Director works closely and collaboratively with the Marketing Communications team, as well as with College leadership, faculty, staff, students and alumnae, and members of the news media. This is a full-time, exempt level position.
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism or related field along with a minimum of five (5) years of professional writing experience, preferably in higher education. A strong editorial and promotional writing ability, exceptional editing skills, the ability to maintain continuity of message established by the College brand standards, and demonstrated project management skills also required.
