Position Description: The IAB is seeking an Operations Intern to assist the HR and Finance team during the Fall 2017 season. The preferred candidate is highly self-motivated, collaborative, organized, detail-oriented, and a quick learner.
The Operations Intern, is a temporary position for around 10 weeks (~October–December 2017). IAB interns are paid an hourly rate of $11/hour. The ideal candidate will be available to work up to 40 hours per week, but qualified candidates who can only work part-time may be considered.
Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
Accounts Payable o Help manage employee expense processing: - Send out reminders to staff - Audit receipts vs expense reports o Payables: - Collect and distribute incoming invoices - Code invoices - Obtain departmental and finance approvals - Enter bills into QuickBooks - Vendor Set Up & Maintenance - Financial Planning/Accounting: o Assist with planning spreadsheets/budget upload o Vet data between systems o Ad hoc reporting/projects o Ad hoc projects o Vet data between systems
Human Resources o Recruitment - Manage Jobs mailbox, coordinate interviews, and post open roles - Create or research/propose ideas on how to improve applicant tracking o Employee Record Maintenance o Assist with special projects to support HR Initiatives
AP/AR or Financial Planning experience
Proficiency and expertise in Excel, Word and QuickBooks
Data Analysis expertise
Ability to prioritize duties and work on multiple tasks effectively
Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
Interest and/or major in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or HR is a plus
